7. Pasjača, Popovići, Konavle
One word to describe this beach is heavenly. Don’t miss out on this masterpiece of nature, situated in the idyllic Konavle region, south of Dubrovnik. It’s one of those places no photo can match, so you need to climb down a fair amount of stairs to truly get a sense of its unique beauty. Steep, impressive cliffs, a perfect small cove, the Adriatic sea at its best. Since this is heaven, there’s no cell service or bars.

8. Punta rata, Brela
Often used as a poster beach for the beauty of the Adriatic coast, Punta rata is the epitome of the Croatian south. Here you can indulge in the most relaxing scent of the Mediterranean forest, swim in the incredibly clear sea, and admire the mountain of Biokovo in the background. It’s the kind of place where you can just sit for hours and hours and come to the conclusion that it’s the best life can get. Just a short walk from the center of Brela.

9. Velika Raduča, Primošten
Near the historic city center of Primošten lies the Raduča peninsula. With tons of natural pine-trees shade and perfect sea, as well as many sports amenities, restaurants and bars — beaches of Raduča make a comfortable choice with a wide selection of activities for the whole family. You can rent a paddle boat or play beach volleyball. There’s even a trampoline for the kids. It can get crowded, like most beaches, but here there’s enough room for everyone to enjoy the beautiful nature.

10. Slanica, Murter
Pebbly beach, sandy seabed, the fragrant shade of pine trees. You can roll in the shallow water and pretend you’re a seal, dive into its turquoise depths, or just meditate. Plus the view of the Kornati National Park from the beach is amazing. What more do you need? In case the answer is snacks and drinks, there are a few bars and restaurants here too.

11. Banje, Dubrovnik
It’s not easy to single out just one beach in Dubrovnik. From more secluded Sveti Jakov on the south to unconventional Buža, where you can jump right off the cliffs the famous city walls grow out of, Dubrovnik has a variety of very cool beaches. But the main city beach Banje is the most accessible one and offers the most wonderful view of the old town and the island of Lokrum. Five minutes away from the city center, it can get very crowded in the summer months, but it’s still lovely.

12. Šunj, Lopud
Šunj is the best-known and longest sandy beach in the wider Dubrovnik area. Located at the south end of the island of Lopud, this beach has a truly special vibe. The island is car-free, so you can get here from the main village in a few alternative ways. The most popular choice would be a small buggy operated by the locals, which takes you to the beach across the island (about 5 minutes drive). You can also walk the same way — it takes about 30 minutes through the wonderful Mediterranean forest. Of course, you can do it by boat too. If you’re in Dubrovnik or nearby — don’t miss out on a day trip to Lopud and some sandcastle-building on Šunj!
