Vabriga, a small village located north from Poreč is a hidden gem that sublimes all the regions advantages into one place. Dedicated to tourism, winemaking and olive oil production have their roots back in the roman times, so archaeological excavations are done all year round. People from Vabriga are especially proud on one of its plantations, Larun since its olive oil was declared the best in Europe by the UN’s Food and Agriculture Organization. 

THINGS TO DO NEARBY 

Talking about past, you don’t have to travel far to get to know the rich historical heritage of Vabriga and its surroundings. Apart from the roman villas and magnificent early Christian churches, mammoth bones and dinosaur’s footprints have been found on a nearby plantation. Submerged cities, amphorae factories and roman olive mills are only one small part of the wealth of Vabriga. If you visit the area during the summer be sure to listen one of the classical music concerts played in the little churches.
