Diocletian's Palace built around 300 AD during the reign of Emperor Diocletian, is under UNESCO protection and is one of the best-preserved monuments of Roman architecture in the world. Apart from the palace and many other features of the city of Split, it is certainly important to mention other nearby cities that also abound in sights. The city of Trogir is less than 30 kilometres away and the entire city centre is under the protection of UNESCO. Between Split and Trogir are Kaštela, there is total of 7 Kaštela, known for its castles and fortified settlements. Solin and its ancient Salona with the remains of the Greek amphitheatre and city walls is an indispensable location for lovers of cultural and historical heritage. Rafting, hiking, climbing, cycling, boat trips and various sport courts are just part of the rich offer of Split and its surroundings.
