When staying so close to Split, what choice do we have but to tell you about the ancient Roman palace that grew into the second biggest city in Croatia, and the center of Dalmatia’s tourism? Its people call it “The city beneath Marjan”, Marjan being the little hill protected as a natural reserve and a green oasis right next to the city. While staying there, you must climb the belltower of St. Duje, Split’s Saint patron, visit the vivid, loud and colorful city market and admire the Egyptian sphynx that decorate the area of the Roman palace.
