Klis is a settlement north from Split, the capital of Dalmatia. Named after the Klis fortress it is located on the mountain pass bearing the same name. Overlooking Split and central Dalmatian islands, the village today is famous as a Game of Thrones filming location.

Klis is situated only 13 km northern from Split, Dalmatia’s capital and the most visited city in Croatia apart from Dubrovnik. We definitely recommend a day in the city, built as the palace for the roman emperor Diocletian. A city two thousand years old has a lot to offer, and we can’t say for sure what will enchant you more; its magnificent past or the charming Mediterranean spirit and the hospitality of its citizens. When you’re done exploring the city, a day trip to one of the islands is a must, or an island-hopping adventure for all of you who fall in love with the turquoise Adriatic.
